Elizabeth M. Foley

Elizabeth focuses her practice on personal injury litigation. Through Foley Law, LLC, she also advises clients on general corporate and business matters.

Before joining The Russo Firm, Elizabeth began her career prosecuting medical fraud at the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.  In subsequent Ohio private practice roles, Elizabeth represented commercial litigation clients, and defended hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, and the Ohio Insurance Guaranty Fund in medical malpractice matters. She also represented personal injury clients in serious injury and wrongful death cases. As in-house counsel for national health care companies, she provided guidance on governance, medical ethics, compliance, contracts, clinical trials, pharmacy operations, electronic medical records, patient privacy and confidentiality, employment, and immigration matters.

Elizabeth has been a frequent speaker for the American Health Lawyers Annual In House Counsel Programs.  Recent Honors include:

Elizabeth earned her B.A. in Government from Smith College in Massachusetts in 1994 and her Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1997. Admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1997, Elizabeth practices in state and federal district and appellate courts. She was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States in 2016 and has served as a judge for National Mock Trial Competitions in Cleveland, Ohio.  Elizabeth enjoys mentoring law students interested in litigation.

Elizabeth is Treasurer of Quail Hollow Condominium Owners Association and is active in the nonprofit community through charitable volunteer work. Her service includes the United Way Women’s Initiative Board, the Alliance Française Board, and as President of the Toledo Smith College Alumni Club. She is also a past board member of the Toledo Zoo Foundation, Toledo Animal Shelter, Toledo Opera, Toledo Repertoire Theatre, and Valentine Theatre.
